The Setsubun Festival is held at Yoyogi Hachimangu Shrine to drive away evil spirits and bring in good fortune on the Setsubun day that separates winter and spring. 3:00 p.m. for the Setsubun Festival and 3:30 p.m. for the Mamemaki (bean-throwing) Ceremony. After three bean-throwing ceremonies, one bean-throwing ceremony is held for children (elementary school students and younger) at the end of the ceremony (with a dedication performance of Japanese drums).

Mochi rice cakes made at the Mochi Pounding Festival on Friday, January 31, 2025, will be scattered with beans.
