The 2025 Yoyogi Hachiman Shrine annual festival will be held from Monday, September 22 to Tuesday, September 23.
This year's annual festival at Yoyogi Hachiman Shrine will again include a parade of portable shrines carrying the shrine's sacred body, traditional local stage performances, and food stalls.
Every year, the shrine grounds are dedicated to the performance of satokagura (traditional Shinto music and dance), and many stalls are set up.
The head office mikoshi is carried once every few years, and the sight of the mikoshi being carried up the steep steps by a large number of people is a sight to behold!
Incidentally, the year before last, it was a sight to behold as they entered the shrine in the midst of heavy rain.
If you have time, please visit Yoyogi Hachiman Shrine and enjoy the annual festival as well.
