Coco is a Science Paradise♪ NITE Friendship Day
Event Report

The Sasahatahatu area is also experiencing a rush of events in the summer vacation! This time, too, you may find yourself saying, "What? There's a place like this? We visited the mysterious "nite" facility.

NITE is the National Institute of Technology and Evaluation. In layman's terms, it seems to be a place that inspects the safety of products. The Friendship Day was held at such a place. The main contents were workshops, crafts, and puzzle solving for children, but they all took a rather core science approach, such as making elemental key rings and a game to catch microorganisms on the screen!

My daughter was particularly fascinated by a real science experiment on electric current. Wearing a small white lab coat, she was asked to make her own experimental apparatus to see what kind of things conduct electricity and what kind of things don't. She was so fascinated with the experiment that she was able to make it herself. The PowerPoint presentation, which was made using Irassuya, was so easy to understand that even my 4-year-old daughter was fascinated. The presentation was simple, clear, and unambiguous: "If you pass electricity through it, it will make sound. I was also impressed by the well-thought-out choice of materials that elicited the question "Why?

In addition, we were shown an experiment that showed that electrical cords can catch fire if used with their cords still bundled together, and were given a lot of information on product safety! I found myself playing for about three hours without eating lunch.
Next year, I would like to bring my own lunch.
