The Toyo Institute of Public Health, located between Sasazuka and Hatagaya, always caught my attention whenever I passed by on Waterworks Road.
It seemed to be a vocational school, but I had no idea what kind of school it was, and I had no idea what kind of things I would be studying.
Then, I happened to see a sign for an open campus. This was a chance to get rid of a long-standing question!
However, I was thinking that it would be a high hurdle for a middle-aged person, who is obviously not a student preparing for an entrance exam, to wander in just out of curiosity...but then I saw the words "Plarail Plaza" at the entrance. My daughter was quick to take a bite. I knew we had no choice but to go and visit the place, where my daughter could have her long-held doubts answered and play in a cool place.
The pamphlet given to me at the reception desk said "Department of Clinical Laboratory Technology" and "Department of Radiological Technology! My long-held doubts were instantly put to rest.
At the open campus, you could try out various lectures, and students were available for consultations... Among them was the Plarail Plaza, which suddenly appeared. It was a dreamlike space for children to be able to play as much as they wanted in a spacious classroom with a quantity of Plarail that is not easily available in most households. The monitors, which are usually used for classes, were showing videos of trains in operation, and the in-train broadcasts from the speakers on the ceiling gave a realistic impression. When we visited, there were about five children playing, including my daughter, but they were so content that there was no fighting at all. Moreover, the station was so well-stocked that there were always batteries and screwdrivers for changing batteries. We found ourselves enjoying ourselves with both parents and children until 3:00 p.m., when the open campus ended.
As a result, the question of what kind of school Toyo Institute of Public Health was, was resolved, but now a new question arose, "Why do they own so many plastic rails in such quantity and quality?
