The Shibuya Ward Fureai Botanical Center was renovated last year.

Leaving the Sassafras area, I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and found the small center crowded with groups of women and couples in their twos and thirties, smartphones in hand.

Even though it's a ward facility? Why!

The correct answer is the stylish, photo-worthy space and the café, which occupies about 1/3 of the entire center.

There is no heat and humidity that is common in botanical gardens, making it a comfortable place to spend time even in summer, and there are many benches and other places to sit besides the café, so you can take a break surrounded by plants.

Isn't such a stylish space...not suitable for small children?

No, no, no! That is not true!

Children can move back and forth between the upper and lower floors of the intricately designed museum, enter and exit the secret base-like space with small entrances as if to say, "Come on in, kids," and read picture books in the gallery space, all without getting bored.

It is somewhat crowded on weekends, but more relaxed on weekdays. The location is between Shibuya and Ebisu stations. It is a bit of a walk from the station, but you can take the Hachiko bus to get close.

Touch the greenery and enjoy a good cup of coffee while letting your children play in a sophisticated space. This is a recommended spot with children where you can enjoy a little luxury in your hectic daily life!
