However, Halloween is essentially a time for children to enjoy themselves.

Even though Shibuya as a whole was in a mood of self-restraint, the shopping street in front of Yoyogi Uehara Station, which has been thriving every year, was again very busy this year!

The highlight of the Halloween event in front of Yoyogi Uehara Station was the handing out of giant bags of candy with winning lottery tickets.

If the small bag of candy given to you contains a "winner", you will receive a medium bag or a very large bag about the size of a 45-liter plastic bag. Unfortunately, our family did not win again this year, but this is not the only Halloween fun in the Yoyogi Uehara Ekimae Shopping Arcade!

Buckets of pumpkins were also placed in front of each store in the shopping arcade, where children could get candy, chocolates, and other treats. Many children dressed in costumes were running around like treasure hunters to find the buckets. No one started it, but they all cheerfully shouted "Trick or Treat! It was so funny to see the children cheerfully shouting "Trick or Treat!

In addition, a costume contest was held, where participants posted photos taken at the shopping district office, which was spiritedly decorated for Halloween, on Instagram.

Halloween events that require people to visit stores in shopping arcades to receive candy tend to require advance reservations (at the Harajuku Halloween event, I noticed that registration had already closed). (For Halloween in Harajuku, registration was already closed by the time I noticed it.)

Therefore, Halloween events like the one in front of Yoyogi Uehara Ekimae Shopping Street that can be enjoyed on the day of the event, even if you just show up on the day of the event, are very valuable.
