August was a hot month anyway. There must have been many children on summer vacation who had too much time on their hands at home. However, many parents must have wondered if there was somewhere cooler (and less expensive) where they could let their children play as much as possible.
I went to an event held at the Shibuya Ward Sports Center to find a solution to all these problems!
The event began with a group game of tag that took place in the entire gymnasium of the sports center! The children ran from the Sports Center staff dressed as hunters from the popular children's TV show "Escape on the Run". The children were drained of energy from the very beginning! The game is full of realism, with riddle-solving missions and events similar to those in the original "Escape on the Run" series, such as hitting the hunter with a ball that is added during the game to make him stop moving temporarily. The occasional real-life chase between Dad and the hunter was also a sight to behold!
The children, who had 10% of charge left after a game of tag, were fully recharged in the blink of an eye after lunch and a short break. In the afternoon, the children went around the cardboard maze (they could do it as many times as they wanted because it was not crowded) and experienced free throws by Albark Tokyo, a basketball team based in Shibuya Ward, which really drained their energy. My 4-year-old daughter was so excited to be given a pom-pom to hold at the cheerleading event! Her parents couldn't stop snapping their shutters as she danced and wiggled her way through the crowd!
We participated in the sports play event at the Shibuya Ward Sports Center from 10:00 a.m., but it was 3:00 p.m. before we realized it. It was an ideal summer day for us, with our daughter in a state of exhaustion, and the rest of us happy to just watch over her in a cool place.
