The Sassafras Farm Marche is a major event that brings together various organizations in the Sassafras area!
I had been looking forward to the event for a long time, but the weather forecast for the day of the event was unexpectedly rainy.
It says the event will be held rain or shine, but what are they going to do?" I was worried, but the day before the event, a notice was sent out announcing a change of venue, and to my surprise, the event was to be held at the Hatsudai Youth Center and Hatashiro Elementary School gymnasium. I was surprised that they were able to secure such a perfect location at such short notice!
My family, full of enthusiasm, arrived at the Hatsudai Seinenkan at exactly 11:00 a.m., the starting time.
First, go to the workshop space.
There were a variety of activities such as making handmade accessories and eco-bags, but what was interesting was a workshop by a group that takes care of flower beds in the community. The workshop consisted of placing brightly colored pansies and other flowers, which were picked from the flowerbeds this morning, on paper coasters and transferring the colors to the coasters.
When the top was tapped firmly, the color and shape of the flower remained clearly on the coaster, creating a very nice finish.
In the game corner, free school children will be playing target practice and fortune tellers.
My 5-year-old daughter asked the fortune teller to do a "name reading" for her. When I told the elementary school fortune teller my name, she opened a well-worn fortune-telling book and told me my daughter's personality and LOVE tendencies derived from her name.
Food and drink booths and eating and drinking areas were located outside on the greenway, but just at lunchtime, it was raining as hard as a typhoon, so we decided against having lunch outside.
However, despite the torrential rain, there was a long line of people waiting in line at the booths selling organic vegetables.
That is no wonder, as organic vegetables, which are usually a bit expensive, were lined up at unbeatable prices! Everyone was filling their baskets with vegetables.
I also bought enough to fill a large eco-bag, forgetting the reality that I had to walk in the rain to bring it home.
In the afternoon, we went to the Hatashiro Elementary School gymnasium.
Here, visitors were able to experience wheelchairs and street sports such as Double Dutch and parkour.
In the wheelchair experience, visitors rode in an electric wheelchair on a shopping mission. While enjoying the feeling of piloting a robot, participants were also able to experience what it is like to be a wheelchair user.
The street sports corner was also fun for both adults and children.
In Double Dutch, world-class athletes spin the rope in time with our amateur jumps, making us feel as if we were performing amazing tricks!
In parkour, the course was made with mats, obstacles like jumping boxes, and a single bridge, and they taught us how to make the movements look like parkour.
Of course, there will be superhuman demonstrations by the players!
And anyway, both players were very good with children and were able to take my daughter for a ride and entertain her.
Taking advantage of the fact that there were few participants due to the unfortunate weather, my daughter worked her way through all the experiences until just before the end of the day.
Despite the rain, the Sasahatahatsu Farm Marche was a full day of fun.
The next event is scheduled to be held in the fall, and I am now praying that it will be sunny, but I will wait for the event with the peace of mind that I can enjoy it even if it rains.
